California Community Schools Partnership Program

The California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) supports a transformative approach to public education through the development and expansion of Community Schools. A Community School is defined as a public school serving students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 12th grade that embraces a whole-child framework—integrating academics with health and social services, social emotional well-being, family engagement, and community partnerships.

As a school improvement strategy, community schools foster deep collaboration between schools, families, students, and community-based organizations. These partnerships work to understand and respond to the unique needs, assets, and aspirations of the local community. In doing so, schools can align supports and tailor academic and enrichment programs to help every student thrive.
