Division III ~ Chicoer.com 11.23.11
No. 3 Willows (9-3) at No. 1 Durham (9-2)
This is another matchup between two teams that met during the regular season. Durham topped Willows 36-0 on Oct. 7. But Trojans coach Kevin York said Wilows is playing better now. York pointed to the Honkers beating No. 2 Pierce 29-15 in Friday's semifinal despite losing to the Bears 35-14 in the regular season. In Durham's earlier conquest, the defense held Willows to 58 yards rushing on 27 carries, intercepted four passes and totaled seven sacks.
For Willows, Drake Matteson ran for 188 yards and three TDs on 26 carries in the semifinal win. Kyle Wycoff added 125 yards on 19 rushes. The Honkers have to move the ball better and are led by linemen Trevor and Jacob Candelaria. Durham's offense, with Toby Auer at quarterback, Chris Craven at running back and Mark Grzanich as the No. 1 receiver, has been unstoppable most of the season, including the 36-13 semifinal win vs. Trinity.
