Public Heath Announcement

7th - 12th graders are now required to get a whooping cough
shot before starting 2011-2012 school year.

Children must get the "Tdap" on or after their 7th birthday
and show proof of immunization by May 15th in order to start the
2011 - 2012 school year.

Whooping Cough (Tdap) vaccination clinic scheduled. ALL students entering the 7th - 12th grades need to have proof of receiving an up-to-date immunization. Clinics are scheduled for May 24 (Orland), May 25 (Willows) and May 26 (Hamilton City). ONLY Medi-Cal/CHDP and Native American students are eligible to receive shots at these clinics. Cost is $2.00. Dear Parents

AB354 requires that all students in grades 7-12 for the 2011/2012 school year have a whooping cough shot (Tdap) booster before they start school. They must have had this shot on or after their 7^th birthday. This means that all students currently in grades 6-11, will not be able to start school next year without meeting the new requirement for a whooping cough booster.

Please bring or mail your child's immunization record showing that the new whooping cough requirement has been met. We will need this verification by May 15^th, 2011.
