Willows: A Historic Community
The City of Willows, with a population of approximately 6300, is located 90 minutes north of Sacramento, at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 162.

Willows is a historic town, starting in 1875 and named for a grove of willows that became an oasis in the Central Valley's dry plains for travelers from river ranches to the foothills. Many historic homes remain, and the old Interstate 99 offers a leisurely drive through history.

Agriculture continues to be the most source of employment for most of the area's residents, along with manufacturing, retail, education and public services.

Willows is known as the "Gateway to the Mendocino National Forest," and many wilderness areas, reservoirs, and the Sacramento River are nearby.
